As Winter draws to a close and we look to the blossoms with the hope of warmer weather and longer days, two days remain to get through that final push to Spring. The fact that they both form a weekend makes it all the sweeter.

A few recommendations from the RiotACT team to start with:

John Lombard recommends The Dream, at the Canberra Theatre Centre

Heather Lansdowne will be spending time at the UC Open Day (in case you’re looking for a career change)

Josh Mulrine will be checking out the local talent at the Canberra Photographic Society annual exhibition at Watson Art Centre 10am-4pm

Emily Morris is taking the kids in search of Koalas in the Canopy at Tidbinbilla on Saturday at 2.30pm

A few other options:

Ranamok Glass Prize exhibition at the Canberra Glassworks

It’s the last weekend of the Fireside Festival

Bob Dylan plays at the Convention Centre Friday 29th August

True Vibenation play at Transit Bar on Saturday night

Robin Williams tribute screening of two of his most beloved films – Dead Poets Society and Good Morning, Vietnam – on Sunday 31 August at 6 PM

ADFA Open Day – I think I just heard one of the planes flying overhead. Always fun with abseiling, obstacle courses martial arts etc.

Also ANU Art School open day is good fun too, and sometimes you can buy cheap art or have a go at pottery etc.
