Hey there, Friday. Good to see you. We’re in for a warm and sunny weekend in Canberra, with temperatures in the low thirties predicted for both Saturday and Sunday.

Here’s what the RiotACT team is up to this weekend…

Emily Morris is off to the Grease Sing-a-long at the Openair Cinema tonight.

Lisa Martin is heading to the first Fash ‘n’ Treasure for 2015 at EPIC on Saturday.

Sophia Carlini is spending the weekend in Perth.

John Hargreaves and his band, The Old 45s, are playing at the Erindale Vikings Club from 9pm tonight.

Elsewhere in Canberra…

A weekend just wouldn’t be complete without wine and cheese, so learn how to pair the two at Lerida Estate’s wine and cheese matching master class (it’s part of the Summerside Festival) on Saturday from 11am.

In arts and entertainment, comedian Eddie Izzard brings his Force Majeure world tour to Canberra with a show at Llewellyn Hall on Saturday night; Phoenix Players’ rock musical High Fidelity opens at ANU Arts Centre tonight at 8pm with another show at 8pm on Saturday; and a preview showing of the Bald Archy Prize opens today at Watson Arts Centre and runs until 9 March.

Still in entertainment, embrace your inner Googonian with free live music on Saturday at Googong’s family day out, the inaugural Googfest.

Otherwise, catch The Rumjacks at Transit Bar tonight, The Gooch Palms at Phoenix on Saturday night and the Gypsy Scholars at Smiths Alternative, also on Saturday night.

Feeling charitable? Help support the Fred Hollows Foundation on Saturday by attending the AB FAB shop’s fashion fundraiser for an afternoon of fashion, live music, refreshments and prizes.

Or, join in the teddy bear’s picnic at Gungahlin’s first Muddle Puddle Market on Saturday morning to raise funds for SIDS and Kids.

In sport, say hello to your favourite Brumbies players on Saturday at Meet the Players Day. There’s also the AMB 100 Mountain Bike Marathon, which features the longest racing circuit possible at Stromlo Forest Park and takes place on Sunday morning.

Happy Friday! What are your plans for this weekend?

I am going to the best art show, great paintings with a sense of humour and wit:
The Bald Archy Exhibition, Watson Arts Centre, Aspinall Street, Watson, every day, February 6-March 8, entry $5.
