What's the deal with the "new and improved" meat raffle at the Ainslie Footy club!!!

I’ve been frequenting the Ainslie Footy club for years. Namely on Wednesday nights for the meet raffle.

The Wednesday night meat raffle at the Ainslie used to be a real treat. Often you would go in there, buy about thirty bucks worht of tickets and walk away with at least two meat trays and on a good night you could add a case of beer too! Sometimes I was emabrrased for not only myself but other regular patrons as we dominated the prize pool…

But all that has changed…

During the new year the Ainslie’s Wednesday night meat raffle has turned into a 1 hour gameshow spectacular. Hosted by and exceptionally well dressed young man whom I have dubbed “Andrew O’Queef”, we are treated to half hourly badge draws during the proceedings along with the meat raffle which builds into the dramatic climax of “Money or the Box”. I simply can;t handle the fast-paced adrenaline of it all, what used to be a quiet mid week get together with the missus over some beers and meat trays has turned into a three ring circus complete with rabid spectators screaming “take the money”, or “the box”!!!

The whole thing reeks of a sellout!

SELLOUT I TELLS YA!!!

To top it off I haven’t won a frakkin’ thing in the last two months!!! :o)

New and improved sucks poostix.

Coming off the back of the “new and improved schniddy” at my other local club, Dickson Tradies, this is enough to turn me off club going forever. Boo hoo!

Try the West Belco Leagues Friday night meat raffle. Good old fashioned down to earth meat raffling. No razzamataz, just a nice middle aged lady in a silly hat. The way meat used to be distributed.

I hate the people who win more than once, there should be a law against it.

Maggies at Holt do a good meat raffle.
