Found this at the new Altitude apartments in Belconnen.

I thought the big crack in the vertical concrete seam to the top left was more of a concern.

I would have thought the bigger thing wrong with these apartments is the price.

They might be in a nice(ish) spot, but with the “The Ridge” flats all of 20 meters across the road, they aren’t exactly in prime location.
You could build me a mansion made of platinum and I still wouldn’t want to live that close to Emu Ridge…

You’re just missing the Mully.

Has it gone to join its namesake?

hmmmm Dredging the very bottom of the barrel on a slow contribution day it looks like. I would have read it the way it is intended, that the lowest available (minimum) height is 2.15m. Next article please

I agree – unfortunately the-riotact has become a bit stale over the past 6 months or so. Lift your game guys; I’m finding more value in the Canberra times!

You’re just missing the Mully.

Well it does exclude most pedestrians.

They are the Altitude Apartments…they don’t want short people lowering the tone.

You’re all much cleverer than me. I thought the sign had been hung in such a way that the maximum height was now less than 2.15m because you would hit the sign first.

Ha ha! Classic. Nice spotting.

Yes, the minimum height of the ceiling is 2.15, but the sign on the way out is probably not necessary.

Seems clear to me. The minimum height of the ceiling, or protrusions, is 2.15m. So I won’t be entering it in my 4wd which is about 2.5m.

Seems to be as correct as all of the places that tell you what the maximum clearance is. If I’m driving a tall vehicle what I’m interested in is the minimum clearance–because that’s what I’m going to hit.

Yes, but minimum clearance is different to minimum height. Like most such signs, I think they got confused between “minimum clearance” (ie. at lowest point) and “maximum (allowable vehicle) height” (ie. height of vehicle).

Minimum height 215 m? Is that all? Sign made in China probs.

If you squint there’s a decimal point (and some bad kerning).

Dammit – back to the Where’s Wally books for some practice …

I give up. What *is* wrong with this picture?

To park their you must drive a LandRover with roofracks, a roof mount for your retro fixed gear pushbike or one of those stupid Thule roof coffins.

The direction arrows won’t be visible until the door is up ?

Traffic direction arrows are on the other side of the closed roller doors?

Minimum height 215 m? Is that all? Sign made in China probs.

It’s like those rides at the theme park – you must be this high to enter.

D’oh, on second viewing I can just make out the swipe card sensor. As you were.

Holden Caulfield10:58 am 24 Jul 13

Haha, that’s quite good.

There’s also the small matter of there being no sensor for what’s presumably meant to be a swipe card entry.
