Where to pick up hot bands!?!

Running a workplace social club the way I do, often the question comes up, ‘are we going to get a band?”

Instantly I get a list in my head of bands, local bands mind you, I’d ‘like’ to see play my work function. But if I asked these bands, local bands mind you, if they play functions and for how much, I imagine I’d get beaten up in short order.

Or would I? What’s the Rock n Roll work ethic like in this here town? Recommendations at all?

(PS. yeah, they all want chilling jazz bands, but I want to slip them some Rock n Roll)

If only Scrapheap had contact details online. You’d think these people have something against making money.

Grrr, Hitparade broke up yesterday afternoon, just after I booked them.

CURSE YOU!!!!!

You hum it Simto – they’ll sing it

Alas, they don’t appear to have “Once, Twice, Three Times a Lady” on their playlist…

You can’t go past this outfit http://www.hitparade.com.au/html/index.html
for a function – talented isn’t the word!

Given the ever reducing live music venues in Canberra, I expect it’s worth at least asking bands you like if they’ll do functions and how much. I like Annie & the Armadilloes for blues etc.

Try contacting Tina Meir at Drawcard Entertainment http://www.drawcard.net.au We have done gigs through them in the past, and they have been very professional to deal with.

Either or, AD. Just as long as they hit the right ‘comfort zone’ then thats good.

Whitey, Scrapheap sounds like just the rock n roll for these IT oldies that I’m looking for.

are you looking for covers or originals?

Where will this end ?

What will be next ?

Where to pick up a Hot Water System ?

I was at a function recently & “Scrapheap” played. They were pretty good, lotsa Stones, Who, Beatles & a couple of newer tunes like Jet.
