Where can I find good coffee in Belconnen?

I’ve recently started working in Belconnen and I’m yet to find a really great coffee shop nearby. Any suggestions?

I really liked Lava when I worked in Phillip, as well as Two Hands, ONA and Celestinos when I was in Fyshwick. Where in Belconnen serves up a comparable flat white?

All suggestions welcome.

+1 for two before ten !

Chatterbox up near the Labor Club.

By far the best coffee in the area.

And yet I am concerned at this obsession with procuring good coffee, as exhibited in this post and others. It seems such a First World fixation, nay a symptom of a decadent society. Is this all going a bit overboard? Should we be worrying about something that matters instead?

People don’t want to waste money on sh*t coffee. It’s that simple. Perhaps we should be spending less time criticising other’s choices on an internet forum, and doing something that matters instead?

You’re right, freedom should not be a dirty word!

Where’s Belconnen? 😉

I’ve got a flash Italian espresso machine at home, and enjoy a nice coffee when I go out. And yet I am concerned at this obsession with procuring good coffee, as exhibited in this post and others. Thanks everyone for your responses! Belconnen isn’t as much of a coffee wasteland as I thought 😉

Belco coffee has come a long way in recent years.

In the Mall, Espresso Room Is probably the best, with Kingston Cafe getting better all the time.

Nearby are Urban Roasters And Chatterbox – both worth the trip.

Up the top, across the road from Reece’s plumbing is a new place that I can’t bloody remember the name of! Canberra coffee supplies maybe? Again, worth the trip.

More and more cafes opening up in the suburbs as well.

Lonsdale St Roasters have an affiliate in the new apartments in the old interchange.
Otherwise try the place in the bottom of the old ATO building Chatterbox.
Avoid Calypso in the Stats building. Orange Bean is ok.

Urban Roast on the corner across the road from the old police station, new medical centre and Westfield is my absolute favourite place to go

Belconnen is pretty big. But assuming you work in the immigration/abs/comsuper/hp/acma areas. There is Remedy for strong coffee (lonsdale street roasters) the place in the old immigration building serves ona. Orange bean and chatterbox serve good consistant coffee. Guru and calypso serve cups that depend on their barista. The expresso room, cherry tree, cafe on benjamin, vivo and all the other shopping centre cafes do a fairly decent cup

Two Before Ten at the Aranda shops – top pour!

I’d be interested to know the answer to this too. I don’t go to Belco often but we usually just went to Black Pepper. Now that Ricardo’s is in Jamison, we tend to go there instead.
