Where can I get a torque wrench calibrated in Canberra?

Hi obscure question fans.

Being the DIY expert I am I’ve just found out that torque wrenches can lose their calibration, and after shearing a bolt using the manufacturer’s recommended torque setting at the weekend I think I might need to get my torque wrench recalibrated.

I’ve done some research online but come up with nix. Does anyone have any ideas as to what type of organisation might provide such a service in the A.C.T.?

Cheers.

Jah niftydog the other thing I found out was that I shouldn’t treat it like a normal spanner and throw it around, have things thrown on it, use it as a makeshift punch etc…next time hey?

Unless you are talking about an expensive engineering grade torque wrench, I wouldn’t bother. Cheap handyman grade ones do tend to under read when they wear. Go to SuperCheap and buy a new one.

It’s not that difficult to DIY to a reasonable degree of accuracy, provided you’re a bit handy and can poke buttons on a calculator. Plenty of explanations online.

Otherwise I’d be asking places like M&G Industrial.

I’d be surprised if it just drifted out that badly that you’re shearing bolts. Perhaps it’s been dropped or something?
