Brendan Smyth has put out a media release observing that the 2007 Sport and Recreation Grants Program was funded to the tune of $1.8 million and yet only $1.5 million of grants were announced yesterday.

Leaving $300,000 unaccounted for…

Lucky old Chic Henry?

UPDATED: Yesterday evening Andrew Barr’s office managed to put his media release online.

“The remaining funds in the program have been earmarked for Special Purpose funding, where Government and the industry will work in partnership to target priority participation areas, such as women, older persons and youth at risk as well as facility development, throughout the year”

Ahh, those earmarks again!

The answer on the $300,000 can be found in Barr’s media release.
