We are with iiNet and use BoB which iiNet supplied. We haven’t looked back since we got it and it makes life so much easier. Heaps more room in the study wiothout different devices. Setup was easy too, plug him in and he sorts hiself out, you just need to whack in a password for your wireless network

If you want to save a few dollars and possibly spend a lot of your valuable time as compensation to the gods of IT hassles, go down your own road.

If however you accept the modem that iinet provide, you will have hassle-free setup, and when you call in modem problems, speed issues etc, the techos will have much more chance of solving your problems.

I was initially aghast at the price of their VOIP modem but amortised over the 24 month contract it’s not really that much. And a couple of times I have rung in with line speed queries, having their own supported modem has made a heap of difference.

If you’re going with iinet then they can supply a modem for you. They supply Billion I believe, which are great modem / voip routers.

I have been with iinet for a few years now and they provide an excellent service. Enjoy!

If you go with their VOIP offering you can get BoB which takes care of all that.

Get the one iinet supply.

I’ll second MSY. I haven’t been to their new Fyshwick store, but if it anything like their other stores interstate they will be the cheapest place to buy from.

As you are going naked make sure that you get a modem with voip capability [I assume if you are going naked that you know what voip is].

The Billion 7404VGPX Wireless ADSL2 Modem Router + VOIP is $157 from MSY and is a good quality unit that will do what you want.

+1 for MSY. They are not for best for customer service but their prices are pretty good.

Look for a Billion on eBay. By far the best modems/routers you can buy. Another good one is Thomson. Under no circumstances buy one from Dick Smith, Harvey Norman or JB HiFi. All the ones I bought there (all brands) failed after a few days or weeks and I couldn’t get them working again.

+1 for http://www.MSY.com.au – very good prices and very happy to have them in town!

MSY have recently opened in Fyshwick, and their prices will typically smash any other retailer by quite a margin.

I would try dick smiths or Harvey norman. I personally wouldnt use that ISP tho (just a friendly warning from experiance).

http://www.warcom.com.au are very well priced and have a really good range.

If you need it locally, just go to HN or JB or something. If you’re not sure of what to get, get a Billion. They make awesome routers.
