Tis the season to be jolly as Christmas is just around the corner … and this means the festive feasts and week of leftovers that follow Christmas Day are on the way.

If you’re looking for a venue to organise Christmas catch-ups with family, friends, and work colleagues in December, and want one that has it all, Rydges Canberra, QT Canberra or the Eastlake venues have got you sorted.

Alternatively, if you’re looking to save yourself from the cooking, cleaning, and chaos of organising Christmas lunch this year, the Canberra Southern Cross Club is open on Christmas Day.

Get into the festive spirit with Eastlake Football Club at any of their venues to enjoy a nice Christmas lunch or Christmas dinner this December.

Available across the Gungahlin, Griffith and Calwell venues, from 30 November to 24 December, come and indulge in a treacle-glazed ham and roast turkey, served with steamed and roasted vegetables, gravy and cranberry sauce.

For only $35 per person, you will also get a traditional plum pudding served with brandy custard and ice cream, guaranteed to satisfy your sweet cravings.

(To purchase the ham and roast turkey individually, it is $27.95, and for traditional plum pudding, $11.95.)

To make things even more exciting and stress-free this Christmas, all the Canberra Southern Cross Clubs have decided to remain open on Christmas Day.

Across Woden and Tuggeranong Southern Cross Clubs, there’s a festive three-course lunch that awaits you.

It starts with fresh Australian seafood, followed by a traditional roast ham and turkey, and finishes with a house made Christmas pudding served with brandy sauce and whipped cream.

The Southern Cross Club in Woden will feature a buffet for main and dessert, while Tuggeranong will have a plated meal.

There are two lunchtime sittings available across Woden and Tuggeranong, 11:30 am and 1:30 pm, with a cost of $125 per adult and $60 per child 12 years and under. Book here for Woden and here for Tuggeranong. UPDATED 29 NOV: Woden now sold out.

The Canberra Southern Cross Yacht Club is also hosting a four-course Christmas lunch, and bottomless drinks.

Start with their fresh Australian seafood platter, then enjoy a lobster thermidor, before a traditional Christmas main course of turkey and ham. To finish off the meal, there’s a delicious Buche de Noel for dessert.

Tickets for the lunch are $250 per person, and $95 per child 12 years and under.

At QT Canberra there are several packages on offer to provide you, your friends, your family and your colleagues with all your Christmas favourites this December.

As part of their ‘Festive Feasting’ menu, for $85 per person, there’s a two-course meal on offer, and for $95 per person, there’s a three-course meal on offer.

Included in this is a selection of five starters, five mains and two desserts to choose from, which can be booked for 30 to 200 people.

QT’s ‘Festive Set Menu’ is $75 per person for a two-course meal and $85 per person for a three-course meal. This features Rottnest Island scallops with jalepeno and coriander for entree, free range Berkshire porchetta with pickled mustard seed and salt-baked celeriac for mains and Christmas pudding bombe for dessert.

The ‘Festive Alternate Drop’ is $80 per person for a two-course meal and $96 for a three-course meal. It has a selection of three starters to choose from, two mains and two desserts, including Christmas bombe and pavlova with berries, macadamia and vanilla.

For $50 per person, a ‘Festive Canape’ package is also on offer which includes chicken parfait, turkey and pistachio terrine, prawn and avocado, roast pork, lamb kofta, zucchini flowers and more.

The normal ‘Canape Menu’ has a selection of hot and cold canapes for a minimum of 20 guests. For $28 per person, you can get four items, for $42 you can get six items and for $56 per person, you can get eight pieces from the canape set menu.

There’s also a list of ‘Party Starting Packages’, aka drink packages featuring beers, wines and spirits.

Rydges Canberra is also getting into the Christmas spirit with their ‘Refreshingly Festive’ dinner menu. Starting at $70 per person for a two-course meal and $85 per person for a three-course meal, you’ll get a choice of five starters, five main meals and five deserts.

For $60 per person, there’s also an option for canape-style dining where you’ll get one piece of each food.

This includes smoked salmon, avocado, pumpernickel and caviar, duck parfait, cranberry jelly and toasted brioche, edamame cheese, Persian fetta and herb toast, smoked turkey, cranberry and a crispy tart, Jamon Iberico, asparagus and cream cheese, poke bowl, tuna, rice noodle, seaweed salad, coconut, lime and chili, beef and mushroom pasties with spiced tomato chutney, barbecue pork belly, caramelised apple, truffle risotto and saffron aioli.

There are also a variety of beverage packages on offer serving premium beers, wine, sparkling and soft drinks.
