Gunman day. The day we celebrate the coming of Gunman, on this continent. Gunman day celebrated with our finest guns. All hail compliance to the gunmen. Bullet dodging from the beginning.

Inspirational words. In fact, you’ve inspired me to head to the range this arvo with a few of my guns. 🙂

Neither ‘wins’. They both also dodged the bullet in mentioning a very important event taking place at old parlaiment house. The 40 year anniversary of the establishment of the tent emabassy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Isalnd peoples…and yes I know you will all whinge and carry on about the eyesore and agressive behaviour so before you do, take a minute to think of what it actually stands for. Google the Freedom Ride of 1965 and try and understand what it’s like to be ltreated as less of a human than others. Happy Invasion Day

Zed won because he said he wanted to go to a citizenship ceremony whereas Katy will work to keep Canberra as the centre of government. I think Katy promised an easier task so Zed gets points for effort.

Gee, Zed didn’t roll out the line about his childhood growing up in Tuggers. No doubt it will be back on our TV screens when the ads start up prior to this year’s election.

Zed wins – it was shorter.

Zed wins because he kept party politics out of it.

Can we have an option for ‘I wish they would both shut up and bugger off’

Which is the better set of empty platitudes? Zed’s hands down. Putting the content in inverted commas really divests them of all meaning and significance, especially when the narrator telling us what Zed said remains unidentified. While Katy has gone to a lot of trouble to say nothing, I felt she came rather too close to making a point to be entirely as vacuous as Zed has managed to be.

As a side note I’m voting for Zed (never thought I’d hear myself say that… 🙂 simply because he said what his Australia day plans where… Make me think there might be a human behind that smiling photo…

Their both equally as vomit worthy…
Whilst Katy and Zed may have written the respective pieces, they both have the air of carefully crafted words, which say something and yet say nothing at the same time.

I personally feel like I’ve just read a robots first attempt at communication, there was no emotion.

C: Neither.

Katie’s was boring, basically reminding us that Canberra wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the feds.

Zed’s, the usual I’m the son/daughter of X nationality migrants, so lets celebrate diversity.

Of the two, I prefer The Z mans.

We seem to deliberately avoid the whole founding fathers, pioneering spirit, boat people and men with beards thing though.
