Who says that Canberra is boring?

What an interesting week so far…..

An explosion in Mitchell with three injuries!

A dead body on a driveway in Turner!

Various objects being hurled at varous Magistrates!

Last week a “non-suspicious” death of a taxi driver (sorry, but methinks that there is more to this than meets the eye).

Niftydog being able to flick a fart from a moving vehicle…..

Who says that Canberra is boring?

Speaking in general terms, there are 2-3 suicides in the ACT per month. The motives vary but includes mental health issues & depression over relationship breakdown, financial problems, habits etc. Some are seen coming, but most aren’t. They usually aren’t reported in the media but if in a public place can be.

The body is examined, the scene is examined, witnesses and family and associates of the deceased give statements and the matter is eventually the subject of public record via the Coroner’s Court.

I bet my left nut that the conspiracy theories would be immediately discounted by the facts known by the 50 or so people directly involved from the police, forensics, medical and court staff. (unless you want to suggest that the conspiracy is that wide)

You also have to ask yourself..what might be in taxis that aren’t in normal cars?

……..You just made Canberra boring again………

This is all very illuminating. Now to go and find some police eating doughnuts (donuts?) and ask them what’s going on because there’s a police car in the street.

(They might on way to interrogating ducks at the vet…)

It is terribly sad to think that someone gets their joys from other peoples’ grief. My best friend is 1 of the men involved in the “explosion in Mitchell with three injuries!” still in a critical condition in burns units.

How tragic life must be for one person to find such a tragic accident so amusing and “interesting” when in reality this has not just affected the 3 men involved and might I add the rest of their lives but their families and friends.

Merry Christmas

“He was robbed, beaten and thrown from the bridge in a racially motivated attack by some sailors” – That would result in injuries wouldn’t it?

“He was getting done for rape and couldn’t take it anymore” – This one is probably born of charges against another taxi driver in the media this week.

“He had severe depression and bi-polar” – I’m sure the investigators would be speaking to those who knew him, not the gossipers.

At the end of the day, those who need to know, including the friends and family of the bloke, do.

I think the taxi driver died from alien-anal-probe-related injuries.

Cameras obviously, but we everyday people will never see that. I have heard things ranging from:

He was robbed, beaten and thrown from the bridge in a racially motivated attack by some sailors.

He was getting done for rape and couldnt take it anymore.

He had severe depression and bi-polar.

And a couple that i cannot/wont mention here as they are quite disturbing and would only cause arguements (and not the good ones). So there is obviously a bit of scuttlebut going on at the moment about this.

What about the fires near the Court House? Canberra Hospital (which resulted in a ward being closed)? Michelago (Canberra Firies are helping out)? Belconnen?

The real story is far less interesting than the stories you’ve been hearing I imagine.

Care to put rumours to rest?

No, not really. That would spoil the fun of rumours, wouldn’t it?

True, and there are some corkers.

my cat went to the vet and heard something..

Go on

Nightly poker games in Queanbeyan are exciting. Not technically Canberra, it’s illegal except at the Casino if you’re in the ACT.

Reminds me of Porkys in a way.

I thought the taxi driver was alone at the time Tooks ??

I don’t understand your question; I’ve never mentioned any details about the incident. I just find some of the rumours I’ve heard pretty silly.

Just curious as to what you base that on?

Just with the chatter amongst the Security/Taxi/Ambo crowd.

But it is just chatter at the moment as i have heard a few varied stories.

well thank god for that. because murders, explosions and violence are really what make cities fun in the first place!

bored? well why not try smacking your next door neighbour in the face with a shovel (after you blow up their letter box)

Fires in Tuggers, Macquarie and Parkwood Rd in the last 3 days

Maybe it appears that way as everything is swept under the carpet!
