Perhaps spurred on by the Labor Senator Kate Lundy’s YouTube efforts the Liberal Senator Gary Humphries has, by the look and sound of it, propped a camera phone up on the bookshelf and given a short, sweet, 1:43, explanation to his green tinged electorate of why he’s voting against the emissions trading scheme.

While Kate’s video was better produced I prefer the shorter format directly addressing the issue and laying down a real course of action, even if it is just a negative vote.

First points in the YouTube war to Senator Humphries, if only for making better use of the format?

Senator Humphries has been using videos on and off since before the 2007 election.

Seeing that Brooks and Dunn have quit the biz, I tihnk it is time for Gazza and madam Lundy to achieve their lifes ambition of winning a couple of golden guitars. it would good to see you help them out.

Interesting that he is wearing a green suit, green tie and has a green plant in the frame. Is that to distract from the non-green message?

How can the Senator be “laying down a real course of action” when his party officially doesn’t have a policy on the issue?

Ten pints of beer to someone who can splice these two efforts together with duelling banjos as the soundtrack to the end result.

Where is the “The art of cinema is the real winner” option?
