ACT Policing is investigating two separate incidents of assault in Braddon last night where a man produced a box cutter knife (Tuesday, August 6).
About 9:30pm police were called to Northbourne Flats where a 54-year-old man had received a stab wound to his leg from an unknown man.
The victim was walking home from Block 20 to his unit about 8.30pm when a man has approached him, demanding his wallet. The victim was then stabbed in the leg with a box cutter knife before the offender fled. The victim was taken to The Canberra Hospital for treatment.
About 10.30pm an 18-year-old woman was walking through Haig Park, towards Northbourne Flats, when she was grabbed from behind by a man. The man produced a box cutter knife and attempted to cut the strap of her handbag. The woman sustained a cut to her clothing and a small cut to her face.
The man is described as being in his early 20s, approximately 178cm (5’10”) tall, with dark hair, wearing a dark coloured hooded top and Doc Martin boots.
