Wild weather all around us

The Bureau has changed its website. Cue screams.

But they are warning that all the regions surrounding the ACT are getting wild weather coming up from Bass Strait.

A low currently east of Bass Strait will deepen and move northwards in the vicinity of NSW coast today. A trough associated with the low will trigger gale force winds along the coastal fringe and over Alpine areas, as well as damaging swell along the southern half of NSW coast.

Damaging winds around 65 km/h with peak gusts of 110 km/h are forecast from late Friday morning for coastal parts of the Metropolitan, Hunter, Illawarra, South Coast and elevated parts of Snowy Mountains forecast districts.

Very heavy surf which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is forecast to develop from the south during Friday afternoon and evening for the Hunter, Metropolitan, Illawarra and South Coast forecast districts. Beach conditions in these areas could be dangerous and people should stay well away from the surf and surf exposed areas.

Surf’s up!

yep

this is what happens when we work sick.

Polish flu?

Vodka is a cause and a remedy.

What about hessian flu?

You get that from sleeping next to an old bag…

Ah well there’s gotta be some fringe benefits when she joins you in the sack!

The website changed about three weeks ago. Guessing not so many visits when the weather’s nice?

Are we cuing screams because the Bureau is now taking advertising on its home page?

With just a bit more planning, they could have incorporated the bit in blue below the map of Tassie so that it could be read without scrolling down.

I have almost 3 tonnes of chopped and seasoned firewood ready. Lit up late yesterday arvo, and was toasty warm all night, with visible coals still going at 6.30am when I got up. I last fuelled it at about 8pm.

Can I come over? I have a tub of chai latte powder and some homemade soup.

Sounds good. I’ll show you how I make Italian style bread and cook it in alumiun foil in the coals.

I know it’s lame to correct spelling, but come on…

“The Bureau has changed it’s website. Cue screams.”

The Bureau has changed it has website, or it is website?

“But they are warning that all the regions surrounding the ACT are getting wild weather coming up from Bass Straight.”

Strait. It’s a strait. Geographical term. The wild weather is coming straight up from Bass Strait.

yep

this is what happens when we work sick.

And the winds have knocked out power to half the inner north (lyneham/turner side).

Back on now.

Thanks. Was wondering what the glitch to the office light was about.

…and just to add, we’re getting ZERO degrees Saturday night to Sunday morning.

Time to bring out the heaters and doona.
