Price gouging at Floriade NightFest

Floriade NightFest tickets were advertised at $25 for adults and $10 for concessions.

But when we arrived at the NightFest ticket office, the prices had escalated to $27 and $12.

The unspecified “administration fee” in the fine print had materialised, to become $2.

Perhaps tickets for next year’s NightFest will be free*?

* plus $30 “administration fee”.

Ah yes, free like the tickets they were giving away through canberra milk. Those turned out to be half price. Easier to just sneak in.

The Raiders were the worst, they advertised tickets for $28, but at the gate they were $38 ea and they wonder why they struggled to get crowds, other than poor performances on the field.

That is a con job if you ask me, be up front and build it into the cost of the ticket in the first place.

First thing I saw in the ad after the price was:
“Transaction fee not included in ticket price.”

Learn to read before Floriade next year and you’ll be fine

Don’t Ticketek do the same thing for concert tickets?

What they have done is just a little bit illegal, if they offer a product for a price, then they have to honour that price.

Them using the words “Transaction fee not included in ticket price.” is very dishonest considering they don’t even tell you what the transaction fee is.

If it was me, I’d be sticking to my guns and insist that they honour the prices as advertised, esp considering that for the average family, that adds on an extra $8 – $10 for the night.
