The ABC has some inside word on Shane Rattenbury’s plans for the coming sitting week.

Of particular excitement are plans to set up a Standards Commissioner for reporting the misbehaviour of MLAs to:

Members of the public who suspect misbehaviour by ACT’s politicians could soon have their claims investigated by a standards commissioner.

Greens Minister Shane Rattenbury will move two motions in the Legislative Assembly this week asking MLAs to formally agree to adhere to an updated code of conduct, and to set up the Commissioner for Standards.

Mr Rattenbury says the measures will boost expectations of behaviour for the territory’s politicians.

“Members of the public or other members of the Assembly could lodge a complaint with the Speaker,” he said.

“The Speaker makes an initial assessment of whether there’s some level of credibility to the complaint or whether it’s vexatious.

“If it proceeds past that first threshold, then the Commissioner for Standards would be asked to investigate the matter.

One suspects Shane is already well aware of just how many conspiracy inclined nutters are out there.

However giving them a process at least keeps them out of trouble while they complete their voluminous yet rambling ledgers of grievance.

One never knows, maybe a legitimate complaint will emerge. We might even get to the bottom of certain MLA’s parking…

Shiny albeit plastic wine cask bladder works just as well as tinfoil used to.

That is exactly what THEY want you to think.

Two questions:

1. Why can’t we just have an ICAC?
2. Where do you buy tinfoil these days? I find aluminium doesn’t keep out the mind control waves.

Shiny albeit plastic wine cask bladder works just as well as tinfoil used to.

Especially after putting the contents in your head…

Though from experience I’ve found that if you drink the contents of the bladder first, it totally negates the effect. The number of times I’ve woken up not knowing where I’ve been…

Yes, looks like the little card that says “truth” he is holding is bent…

Tinfoil or Alfoil just doesn’t work.

Alfoil is fine. It’s just that if you want it to work effectively it needs to be a full face style helmet at least, though a complete suit is better for the full Faraday Cage effect. Best if you earth it to ground as well.

Gee, RedDog, you must be so close to the ideal design here. I’m sure that Troll sniffer could be persuaded to have some meaningful input regarding this matter.
Any chance a chain mail balaclava made from lead wire would work?

Does anyone remember the bloke who used to get around Phillip /Woden years ago in a foil hat?

Tinfoil or Alfoil just doesn’t work. Only crazy people wear those.

Until recently, lead was the way to go. A nice thick lead helmet would give good protection.

However in recent years, those really interested in protecting themselves from the newer more powerful mind control beams have upgraded to Depleted Uranium helmets.

They are denser than lead and provide the best protection.
