Will we get a Speedo moment in Election08?

It’s become a bit of a tradition for campaigning Liberal leaders to prance around in budgie-smugglers come election time.

It’s unlikely that anyone can top Jon Stanhope’s underpant clad leap to the rescue of a downed helicopter pilot.

But after Ted Baillieu and Peter Debnam strutted their stuff will the Big Z disapoint?

Someone might be inspired to do a fake picture of Zed in a swimsuit, and leather loafers, holding a cardboard sign.

LG, we are calling for your questions to put to candidates.

Maelinar, that *was* me going on my own merry way.

Mælinar - *spoiler alert* I've seen S04E134:29 pm 13 Aug 08

JB – I think I say this for many rioters that part of the unique charm of this site (v2.0) was your NOT pandering to the ambient concerns of rioters and cheerily doing your own thing.

Understandably now that you are getting some form of employment out of this gig, the situation is different – merely passing my thoughts along as a form of customer feedback.

Jeez there I was finding you a story on the sexualisation of men and still not happy.

Some people…. – just wrong…

(off topic) johnboy – do you think we could have a few feature posts in the lead up to the election which will allow members to put forward some policies / programs they’d like to see adopted by the next assembly? Keep it broad topic: Public Transport, Health, Education, Town Planning.

Hopefully we can see a few innovative ideas being put forward. Hopefully it’d also be relatively whinge free 😉

It’d also be interesting to see if any of the parties respond to a particulary idea.

there’s something that won’t win votes… unfortunately….

too long a thread. stick to the much shorter ‘what they wouldn’t do’

Sensible well thought out policies that will advance the ACT and its denizens?

Anyway I reckon there’s almost nothing on this earth either Zed or Stanhope wouldn’t do if it could secure them 50% of the vote.

maybe that is another thread in the making – what Jon and Zed would do….

They wouldn’t even need that much to secure majority Government.

Hell I’d do a televised pole dancing routine if it got me 50% of the vote in the ACT.

…somehow I think I would lose votes though.

Zed wouldn’t be stupid enough to alienate 50% of voters with a cheap stunt designed to appeal to the other 50%.

Unlike some…

What’s so objectionable about the thought of Katy in her togs? Vicki Dunne on the other hand….

At least civil partnership is now available to you as the choice of a new generation…

The mental picture I just got of Foskey in speedos may have just turned me off women all together.

Thanks vg

Katie G isn’t that bad a sort surely?

You’d prefer to see Katie G and Deb F in their swimmers?

Oh God I just vomited in my mouth

If we are going to be subjected to a speedo moment, let us all be thankful that Bill Stefaniak is no longer leader.

I think a swimming pool would be the go….

Under the Duby Dome perhaps?

Or maybe a jacuzzi filled with champagne and sex workers? (sadly unlikely, but it’s not like the sisterhood are going to vote for him anyway)

Given the rumours of flesh eating bacteria being detected in in Canberra’s lakes, Zed would be well advised to use sealed Kevlar speedos if he wants to splash around for the cameras around here.
