ABC Online is reporting that “Queanbeyan City Council has voted that wind farms should not be visible on prominent ridges from urban or rural areas.”

Prominent ridges being pretty much the only places you want to be building wind farms.

It’s great to see a new technology with the potential to enrich and develop our regional areas being killed off by the kind of luddites whom, in centuries past, would have been supressed with a good cavalry charge.

Fortunately it turns out QCC doesn’t have the power to enforce their sweeping edict.

But Deputy Mayor Anne Rocker says the council is not able to stop the wind farm going ahead because it is not in Queanbeyan City area.
