What’s the difference between nimbys and whingers on RA?

Whingers complain about more.

well i thought i would just see what other people had heard about tarago bungendore windfarm and all i have heard is a load of rot I am a sensible person who listens to all sides of things and if this is the represenative of most people on this site I dont need it you are very rude and obviously unintelligent we are not against we just want to know whats going on so we can make a decision whether we are for or against

And they’d be massive, too 😉

well id go for nuclear just so i could catch three eyed fish in the cooling ponds.

As I suggested before, there’s a simple way: Give them the choice between a nuclear reactor, a coal-fueled plant or a windfarm on the site…

My friend lives near a windfarm. Looks fine and makes no noise.

looking at the smog, huge man made canyons where brown coal is dug out of in the Latrobe Valley makes windfarms look very nice indeed

I think we are all going through withdrawals now that SGS has left our ranks, and just target anybody who enters our sites.

FYI Google Fight reckons the riot-act would beat SGS 2 to 1

When one stands on the observation deck of the Berliner Fernsehturm and sights windmills churning away on the outskirts, you realise that renewable power has reached the mainstream.

all the nimby arguments are selfish and short sighted.

If I had the choice between looking at:

a. a windfarm
or
b. that horrible new apartment tower in Woden

I’d be choosing the windfarm any day.

I don’t understand why people have a problem with the windfarm proposal – environmentally friendly and aesthetically pleasing to boot?

i think you can mathematically determine a nimby by analysing post frequency, arrival time, topic de jeure etc.

as to this particular post.

yes if i was an executive of some progressive infrastructure provider, i’d love to go to a hostile roasting where i wouldnt be listened to and simply attacked by fools and slack jawed yokels for an hour.

Not another NIMBY using this forum to see if they can get their own way again????? 😉

Funny, but we don’t seem to see any posts from the Ainslie Residents Group members now. And here I was thinking they’d joined RiotACT because they were interested in posting on other topics too, not just the Godwin Village juggernaut!
