I’m looking for wireless hotspots around the ACT (especially near Calvary Hospital) that are publicly accessible. Have Googled unsuccessfully – I can’t find a complete listing anywhere.

Anyone got tips?

A month or so back, I found an open (free) wireless network near the Embassy Motel in Deakin. I’m not sure they realised that it wasn’t secured.

http://www.jiwire.com (found in Google Ads) also has a good list.
It lists 66 hotspots in Canberra and tells you who provides them and how much it costs.
Macca’s hotpost (and Starbucks) is $5 for 15 mins or $14 for an hour….

I dunno if that’s worth it or not…

The Pancake Parlour has a a hotspot too.

Anyone used the Maccas hotspots? What’s it cost?

Some links to get you started:
Telstra Wireless Hotspots

Azure Wireless

Random other hotspot directory

I don’t think there’s a comprehensive listing yet … no-one wants to advertise anyone else’s service.
