Woden Interchange?

Any reason why the roads around the Woden Interchange were blocked for over a hour, with the blockades being lifted just now (10:52a.m.).

If it was a dodgy package, why aren’t we making a deal with the homeless, where for a Mars Bar they wander up and have a peek to see whats inside?

vg, ssanta reckoned it was blocked for over an hour, perhaps time flew while you were standing to attention ?

It was easy to get out of the Neptune St carpark as the only roads blocked after the initial march from the old to the new station (a grand total of about 3 minutes) was Callam St straight outside the new station.

Heaven forbid a Canberra motorist is required to exhibit patience

sorry, that should be bagpipes

There was much pomp and ceremony (including babpipes) going on at the carpark entrance to the old cop shop, making it almost impossible to get out of the neptune street carpark due to road closures. Ended up driving the wrong way down the one-way street that goes past barbar/the cinema/dick fish. Inconsiderate bastards.

The suspicious packages dont get ‘blown up’. They get blown apart by a high pressure water system which nullifies possible circuitry and spreads componentry as far apart as possible. Its called a RAKED system

I thought it was standard procedure to blow up suspicious packages in the hope they aren’t bombs (a la Jolimont Centre).

No, seeing we are computer literate, it is our job to whinge like gimps when said homeless bloke blows himslef up and we criticise the idea of having open the package in the first place.

Isn’t that what us lemming like public servants are for

Sweet. I hope the ritual baton beatings were good too.

I believe the road closures were due to the official opening of the new Woden Police Centre – three or four streets were shut to allow parades, marching bands, and demonstrations of capsicum spray on the interchange drug dealers for the awaiting media throng…
