Woden Tradies Development

There’s a lot of confusion about what the Woden Tradies are up to with their real-estate deals. It doesn’t help that there are no online sources to go with the radio reports over the weekend.

Apparently some deal has been done and Woden Tradies are hoping to build two 15 (or is it 20?) story towers on the site of their existing building and maybe a car park?

So if you know what’s going on feel free to share.

I understand that the Southern Cross Club sold the old Yamba Club to developers.

I believe the idea is to surround phillip pool with 20 storey buildings on all sides so as to create a freezing and shaded environment, and to turn the pool into a unique windswept outdoor iceskating rink. The whistling winds of Woden will add to the thrills and spills.

Public pools are so last century.

A Tradies casino, perhaps? Maybe they could find some space to house and display their bicycle museum (if they haven’t sold all the bikes off yet).

Nope, this one they’re talking about is different.

My only understanding of the proposed buildings you speak of is the redevelopment of the YMCA in Phillip, between the pool and the Yamba club.

This site I believe is owned by the Southern Cross Club, not the Tradies.
