Joy Burch has announced the winners of this year’s Women’s Grants Program:
“Ensuring women and girls in the ACT reach their full potential and are able to fully contribute in our community is fundamental in creating an inclusive ACT,” Ms Burch said.
A project to support women who are involved in the building and construction industry, or looking to get into it, is among this year’s recipients.
“I am particularly excited about this project because there are wonderful opportunities for women to have very fulfilling and rewarding careers in the construction sector.
Ms Burch said it was pleasing to see such an innovative and diverse range of applications for this year’s grants round and that all successful projects would improve the status of women and girls in the ACT.
Other recipients include the Women’s Legal Centre, Domestic Violence Crisis Service, Canberra Rape Crisis, ACT Mental Health Foundation, YWCA of Canberra, ACT Shelter, ACT Women and Prisons Group, Toora Women and Women with Disability ACT.
