Katy Gallagher has put out a helpfull, if untimely, media release reminding us that one night of the Commonwealth Games has warranted screwing with the clock of every computer in the Territory.

The ACT Minister for Industrial Relations, Katy Gallagher, today reminded Canberra residents that this year’s daylight saving period had been extended to accommodate events associated with the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, and will finish on the first Sunday in April.

Might have been better to put the release out on Friday, one wonders? Regardless I found the closing curious: All enquiries in relation to daylight saving can be directed to ACT WorkCover on 6205 0200.

I can’t think of any other obvious departments, but why WorkCover?

Workcover is the first step to eroding our civil liberties in a democratic society.

You all must have avery limited exposure to ACT Duck for Cover they are the most work adverse organisation in the ACT Government.

A massive increase in budget under Stanhope and the rate of workplace injury has increased.

They are one of the truly hidden scandals of this administration.

Surely you’d just use canberra connect.

Maybe they’re trying to boost the number of calls to workcover as fodder to attack the workchoices legislation?

Next week press release: “Minister annouces 600% increase in calls to workcover following the start of federal workplace legislation”
