A world record was made at the Australian Masters Athletics Championships held in Canberra over the weekend, which is a pretty amazing thing.

The team of Kathy Sims (ACT), Kathryn Heagney (VIC), Paula Moorhouse (NSW) and Jeanette Flynn (QLD) recorded a time of 11 minutes 22.59 seconds, smashing by over 24 seconds the previous record of 11 minutes 47.30 seconds set by the Netherlands in 2011.

This is the second world record for Canberran Kathy Sims in the past 12 months. Sims and Heagney were part of the Australian women’s team which also broke the 4 x 400m world record in Sacramento last year.

What was it? The worlds slowest 4x400m?

Would have been good if Barcham said it in the title. But the link gives it as 4x800m and the age class is W60 – meaning women aged 60-64.

What was it? The worlds slowest 4x400m?
