I am writing on behalf of the Canberra Squash community. We are celebrating Squash for 2016 Day (World Squash Day) on Saturday the 23rd of May.

Squash is pushing to be accepted into the Olympic Games for 2016.

With our efforts we are hoping to raise money and the profile of our wonderful sport thus proving that squash is worthy of being an Olympic sport.

The Woden Squash Centre is kindly holding a 24 Hour Squash Marathon to tie in with Squash for 2016 Day. As part of the festivities we are looking to include a team based round robin between various local clubs, including Woden, Dickson, Valley Vikings, Weston, National and Defence Forces.

This would include Singles, doubles and modified games for beginners. We will also display some exhibition matches between some of the top squash players in the Canberra district including Woden Club Champions Raymond Payne and Simon Beasley.

We will also have food and drinks available throughout the whole 24 hours and designated sleeping areas!

For any further information please contact Ray Payne or Simon Beasley from Squash ACT at Woden Squash Centre on 6281 4784
