FYI The parliament is being prorogued at 5pm today with a 19 gun salute.

So if you were alarmed by cannon fire you can fret no more.

What for?

What is the frigging point? How much did the 19 gun salute cost? Whatever it cost, it was a waste of money.

Well, I would have to say this, going forward, this is a great event for all working Australians…….

Looks like they’re going backwards, they must have promised the full 21 gun salute.

Isn’t a 19 gun salute simply a 21 gun salute with 10% GST removed?

21 gun salutes are dead, buried and cremated.

Oh I thought they were commemorating Krudd’s demise from Gillard’s backstabbing effort..

I’d be happy to see Julia infront of the cannon firing squad.

Cutbacks at Defence? Not bloody likely. At least not until everyone else has given up five times as much…

ain’t that the trooth – if we could slice a small proportion off defence budgets globally we could eradicate poverty, hunger, lack of access to health and the world would be a safer place for soldiers… 😉

(And nice quote, JB…)

Why thank you WMC, personally I don’t think anyone who isn’t across Charles R v. Cromwell O can’t hope to speak on parliamentary politics.

Sadly the number failing that test makes up most of the public and a hell of a lot of the current crop of parliamentarians.

And can I just simply say…

Would live ammunition be asking for too much?

Better yet if the public could have had a vote on the name of the ‘live’ ammos…

Dragged kicking and screaming, plonk on a helmet, last rites…
