For those not of a Corinbank bent we have word of the National Cherry Festival at Young this weekend:

The town of Young in NSW will this weekend host the 2012 National Cherry Festival. For three days, 30 November – 2 December, the 63rd National Cherry Festival will offer a highly colourful program of events and activities with something to suit all tastes and ages.

2012 National Cherry Festival Program Highlights

Friday 30 November 2012
Γ— Live music and Big Air School Display: 6:15pm – 9:30pm

Γ— Crowning of the 2012 Cherry Queen and Charity Queen: 9.00pm

Γ— YLAD Living Soils Fireworks Display: 9:30pm

Saturday 1 December 2012
Γ— Young & Region Farmers Market: 8am – 12noon

Γ— Market Stalls: 8am – 5pm

Γ— Auto Pro Cherry Festival Car Show: 9am – 2pm

Γ— Milo the Clown, Circus for Dummies Show: 11:30am – 12:15pm

Γ— Wilders Bakery Cherry Pie Eating Competition: 2pm – 3:30pm

Γ— Woolworths Cherry Festival Street Parade: 4pm – 5pm

Γ— Hilltops Wine Expo: 5pm – 8pm

Γ— Celtic Tattoo Spectacular: 6pm

Sunday 2 December 2012
Γ— Donges Supa IGA Big Breakfast: 7am – 10am

Γ— Children’s Pet Show: 9am

Γ— Live music: Iron & Clay: 10am – 11:30am

The Chop clan did the annual tour of pick you own yesterday. Cherries were not as good as previous years but we still managed to get 2 buckets full for under $40.

Suggest you go early morning and hit the Boorowa pool on the way home. Wear covered shoes, big hats and sunscreen BYO drinks etc.
