Normally if Canberrans want to be in a TV studio audience they have to make the trip to Sydney.

But Southern Cross Ten are letting us know they’re going to be shooting a new comedy “The Green Room” at their Watson studio and the public are invited to be in the studio audience.

This week we are piloting a sketch comedy show here at the Southern Cross Ten studio in Watson. We’d like to invite the public to join our live studio audience.

Tickets are free and the show kicks off from 6pm on both Thursday and Friday nights. All attendees are asked to RSVP to greenroom@sca.com.au.

I went Friday night and it was just as funny – actually my friends with me said it was a bit funnier than the Thursday set! The scenes were great, Jo from 104.7 did a great warm up gig and the set guys did a great job changing out the scenes and coping with congealing blood! it was a fun night (except for the seating).

From what I understand it is a pilot and they need to convince the TV bosses to screen it yet, but if the TV is letting you use the studio then I would exepct that you at least got their attention.

My wife is doing make-up for the this. She started yesterday… said it was funny (the bits she saw in rehearsals). Steve Vizard’s production company is doing it.

Steve Vizard was there last night. We thought it was good fun. Some sketches were better than others (they saved the best for last in our opinion; my stomach was hurting from laughing so much) and the metal seating was pretty damn uncomfortable after nearly three hours, but they did a great job (one guy was particularly hilarious) and we’re looking forward to seeing it on TV. Does anyone know when it is planned to be screened? They didn’t tell us last night and I forgot to ask.

Thanks for putting this up, Johnboy. It’s comedy (and I’m easily amused) and the taping of a pilot (something I’ve never been to). We’re going to check it out tonight. 🙂

I just bet this new comedy show will be hilarious…not.

Seems unfair to knock it before the pilot.

Someone told me the Sunday morning music video program Hot 30 Countdown is produced at the Watson studios as well. Anybody verify this?

no, it is not. The defunct Landed Music was, but that disappeared when SC joined with Austereo.
