The ACT Planning and Land Authority has announced a workshop tomorrow at ANU as part of their policy development process related to the “Bush Capital” nature of Canberra.
- The Bush Capital workshop will cover a range of issues including the recreational use of Canberra’s parks and open spaces, threats to flora and fauna in our suburbs, bush fire mitigation and the ownership, management and resourcing of public spaces.
Expert presenters at the workshop include Professor Catherine Bull, Professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Melbourne and Dr Jane Tarran, Program Director, Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Technology in Sydney.
“The workshop will be attended by representatives from industry and community groups including the Planning Institute of Australia, Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, Property Council of Australia, Conservation Council, University of Canberra and the ANU.
“The outcomes of this workshop will ultimately influence building design, subdivision layout and the location and design of public places for community use,” Mr Savery said.
If you want to go, best to give them a ring.
