In less than two short weeks the Tocumwal Lane pARTy will bring a celebration of art, culture, food and music into the heart of our city.
Providing visitors with an exciting new experience, this urban event will bring new life and creativity into Canberra’s City centre.
Hosted by Canberra CBD Limited, the Tocumwal Lane pARTy will be held on Sunday 29 March in Tocumwal Lane, off Bunda Street and Petrie Plaza, as part of the CBR 31 days in March Festival.
From 11am till 4pm, a number of Canberra’s notable street artists will be painting all the blank walls in the laneway in a celebration of Canberra’s unique street art scene. Work created during the party will establish an artistic hub bringing together the unique styles and expressions spread throughout Canberra.
Canberra CBD Limited’s Chief Executive Officer, Jane Easthope, says the party will enhance Canberra’s City scene;
“The Tocumwal pARTy will enrich the City’s urban landscape bringing together the work of established artists throughout Canberra.”
“It’s the first time so many of Canberra’s significant street artists will be together in the same place, so we encourage visitors to come along and watch as these unique masterpieces unfold.”
“It’s not only established street artists who have the chance to be involved however,” says Ms Easthope.
“Visitors will be invited to try their hand at painting on the walls or canvases in one the day’s master classes.”
Local foodie favourites such as Beach Burrito and London Burgers and Beers will be on hand to cater for visitors. Adding to the party atmosphere will be a local DJ playing music throughout the day.
With a superhero costume theme, the Tocumwal Lane pARTy will transform the laneway from Clark Kent shabby to Superman chic!
