The Canberra Times has the odd news that despite no word appearing on the Liberals website Zed Seselja and Steve Dozspot are going to try to swap electorates at next year’s election.
Mr Seselja has represented the inner Canberra electorate of Molonglo since being elected in October 2004, despite living just across the border in Brindabella.
The ‘‘born and bred” Tuggeranong resident will swap electorates with Liberal MLA Steve Doszpot, who will strive for pre-selection in Molonglo.
Mr Seselja said the move reflected the Canberra Liberal’s new focus on community, which would inform much of their election campaign.
‘‘The Canberra Liberals team have been shaping our policy, our direction, and our vision as being locally focussed. This move is a natural fit with that vision,’’ he said in a statement.
The community is a new focus?
UPDATE: We now have two media releases.
One from Zed, and also one from Steve.
