Zed Seselja has put out a media release unkindly pointing out Treasurer Quinlan’s lack of enthusiasm for Simon Corbell’s busway.

Even more unkindly he asks why $160,000 was spent on the marketing of a non-existent busway.

How much has been wasted on this Cabinet Room squabble is a very good question.

It would be hopeful that Mr Corbell will be quick to point out publicly that the busaway to nowhere is not a goer anymore…but this seems doubtful.

lets look at a potted history.

the ‘sustainable’ transport plan.

an election looming.

busways! gungahlin to civic, belco to civic.
expresso service.

election over.

sorry, belco busway not economical. gungahlin to civic is, because its really just another line painted on the road.

but in 30 years when all the land is built out we will regret not putting light rail in when we had the chance.

this govt is so focussed on the now and self preservation that they have no vision.

Simon has been rolled – pure and simple. He clearly has lost the support of Stanhope and Quinlan on this one, and now our money has gone down the toilet. Why would anyone spend so much on marketing something that doesn’t exist? No wonder the ACT is going broke!!!
