Overnight Zed Seselja was harking back to 2009 to show the Labor Government is no better than his own.

This morning the time warp is extending to 2008!:

ACT public servants were being asked to stay back after hours to cost Labor Party campaign announcements in the middle of the 2008 election, while Labor Party headquarters was included on emails between Treasury and Ministerial offices during the election campaign.

And according to Katy Gallagher, that’s absolutely fine.

Information released under the Freedom of Information Act and obtained by the Opposition paints a picture of ACT Labor using Treasury for its election campaign.

ACT Opposition Leader Zed Seselja said that the documents revealed communications that could potentially erode confidence in the separation of the Labor Party and the Public Service.

“We have seen multiple emails that reveal Ministers political staff asking for feedback for on campaign announcements which the government claims is completely appropriate,” Mr Seselja said.

“In one particular instance public servants were requested to stay back and work after hours so the Labor Party is able to make a campaign announcement the following day.

“ACT Labor’s Campaign Manager was included in such emails between the public service and staffers.

Zed really is a low altitude flyer, admittedly not unique in local politics, but he manages to excel at it.
A loser like him should have been knocked out of the leader’s chair long ago, but so shallow is the talent pool below him, no one has dared call a spill.

This is so small, desperate and weasely.

Some of these documents are pretty damming.

ACT Treasury was checking the Chief Minister’s press releases before they were released DURING THE CARETAKER PERIOD!

Even worse, document 311 has the Under Treasurer apparently telling Jon Stanhope’s media advisor what she has confirmed with the Liberals the details of the Liberals’ Health Policy, and then telling him what those details are.

Document 339 has the Under Treasurer, again, directly telling the Chief Minister about her confidential converstations with the Opposition about the make-up of the Oppositions’ costings.

She should be dismissed.
