Zed gives the money back

The ABC brings word that Liberal Leader Zed Seselja has, in his slow way, had a look at the manner in which his party had made off with $10,000 of charity funds and has decided to give the money back.

Liberal Leader Zed Seselja insists his party has acted in good faith.

But he says having looked at it, having seen where the money came from and what its intended purpose was, it is appropriate that it be paid back as soon as possible.

“I think that’s the right thing and that’s the decision that political parties should be making in the end,” he said.

But would he be paying the money back if the story hadn’t been all over the Canberra media?

No matter what way this is viewed, there is something obscene about a “community” club being owned by a political party. Who was the moron who allowed this to happen in the first place?
Poker machines and achohol are destroying families all over the nation. I hope the ACT Labor party is comfotable with this.

If I recall correctly the Labor Club was originally set up by Labor party members, many of whom mortgaged their houses to do so.

I don’t see anything obscene about it…apart from the food they serve 😛

I think it would be more accurate to say “addictions to alcohol and the belief that you can actually get a ‘big win’ from poker machines” are destroying families. I can safely enter a Labor club, walk past the poker machines, order a meal with a soft drink and play a few rounds of pool without the evil club destroying anything in my life (apart from my taste buds).

You conservative tossers, need to stop crying over this. Liberal dont have their own licenced premises. Boohoo.

Do you really think the ALP would allow a pokie license for a ‘Liberal Club’?

Yep. I have increasingly less faith in the government and the opposition to do the right thing in the ACT.

Well, less faith in the opposition. I have NO faith in the government – 10 years of idiotic decisions will do that.

The ACT Liberal Party motivational song must be –

Money get back
I’m alright Jack keep your hands off my stack.
Money it’s a hit
Don’t give me that do goody good bullshit
I’m in the hi-fidelity first class travelling set
And I think I need a Lear jet

The money from Volunteering ACT to Labor was rent for offices as i understand it.

If the Libs had to hand back dodgy grant money, will those shady green groups have to hand back their climate change grants? I think we know the answer to that.

What are you on about????

”This is a scurrilous attack from Joy Burch on the operations of Volunteers ACT. In trying to take a cheap political shot she is undermining the processes and decision-making ability of an organisation she is supposed to represent.”

Yep, right after you stole from them, you flog!

Here we go with another example of why the ACT Liberals are unfit to govern, Stealing from the poor box? – come on.

The money from Volunteering ACT to Labor was rent for offices as i understand it.

Labor club donations on the other hand…

So now, will Labor also give back the money they received?

Zed claimed that the money the libs got wasnt too bad, because labour got twice as much.
