Zed Seselja has held secret, closed door, private meetings with Tony Abbott.

Jazz 10 October 2012 56

As the ACT election draws ever nearer we typically see all sorts of mud slinging back and forth between the major parties. Today, citynews brings us word that ACT Labor have accused The Canberra Liberals of holding “secret, closed door” meetings with Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott.

Apparently challenger to the throne Zed Seselja had previously indicated he wouldn’t be talking to Tony Abbott about the local campaign & Labor are furious he’s seemingly going back on his word… as if that never happens in politics.

You know between the out of the blue light rail announcement, the tacky attack website and pathetic manufactured non-stories like this, I think perhaps that the government is spooked. Shame there isn’t any public polling (though that’s understandable given the cost and the size of the jurisdiction).

I can’t wait for this election to be over, seriously, who cares. I would be more surprised if Seselja *wasn’t* talking to Abbott.

Still trying to drum up support by making shit up I see.

I’m sure the millions of us that have meetings with the door closed will be heartened that one day the Chief Minister could jump up and down about it and that the city news could run with the story on a slow news day. In short, who the hell cares??

God yes. Let’s get a government so we can bag them and pontificate about how much better we could do it.

Haha. Did he spell it M I S O G Y N I S T……

Before everyone jumps on that statement, I am one of the few that seem to believe he’s not. I just thought I should say it on behalf of females everywhere.

Funny that they should talk though. Who’d have thought. Should we all just ignore the fact that JULIA TALKED TO KATY YESTERDAY…..

Being spooked could explain why they are suddenly keen on being pioneers in privacy legislation – http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/act-could-lead-way-on-privacy-litigation-20121007-277p2.html
Funny, just as a party campaigning on personal privacy starts making some noise…

There is a difference – the Chief Minister made no secret of the fact that she would be meeting with the Prime Minister. Seriously stop being such a Liberal stooge, it is getting quite dull.

I would want the leaders of both parties to be talking – frequently- to Federal leaders. Our local political leaders should be representing and protecting the interests of ACT residents as federal policies are formulated. Steg @vicars31

ACT Labor poling must not be looking good for them to be getting into a tiz about this. Honestly, who cares if he has a private fundraiser with TA?

“… Labor are furious …”

Wha..?

Now, it might just be me, but if I were involved in a political party, and if I discovered my opponents were going to Tony Abbott for advice, I would be absolutely delighted.

In other news, I have a “secret, closed door” meetings on a daily basis.
What do ACT Labor suggest? “open door” meetings every time they discuss something?
Is Ken Idjet in charge of ALP PR again?

How is this a story and who actually cares?

I’ve got to say the CT and the Labor party are starting to sound a bit shrill. I agree with the comment about them being a bit spooked.

I didn’t think the Libs had a chance in hell of winning but now I’m thinking they might be in with a shot.

ACT Labor have accused The Canberra Liberals of holding “secret, closed door” meetings with Federal Opposition Leader Tony Abbott

And?

Is it now illegal to have meetings with federal opposition leaders these days?

This is bizarre.

I think it is because Seselja is on the record stating that Abbott would not be involved, but agree, it is not really a story.

It’z bizarre, and I think it speaks to increasing desperation on Labor’s part (perhaps their polling is telling them something dire, be nice if CT would do a poll).

However I would point out the Libs started it. Their very first ad and some subsequently have shown images of Gillard and Gallagher together, as though a visual shorthand for you get one, you’ll get the other. They’re one in the same.

So Labor is simply returning serve, you get Zed, you’ll get Abbott.

Desperate, but once you’ve held power for as long as they have, just about the only ammo left in the barrel.

Everytime Zed goes to the toilet, he has SECRET, CLOSED DOOR MEETINGS WITH THE THOUGHTS IN HIS HEAD.

Shit just got real.
