Zed stands on his debating dignity

For the life of me I can’t think of much duller than the watching the wits of Zed Seselja and Katy Gallagher matched.

But the ABC informs us the Liberal Leader has pulled out of a Business Council debate because those pesky Greens were being allowed on the podium.

A Press Club snoozefest is planned on condition they keep the Greens out too.

For a man with 6 elected members to be getting all superior over a party with 4 MLAs seems a little odd. But we hang on the tightest to the privileges we hold most precariously.

And here I thought it was the evil Greens pulling Labor’s puppet strings. Now apparently the Greens shouldn’t be allowed to debate becuse of irrelevance?

Some of you goons need to make up your minds and show some consistency!

The Greens members were only elected due to a flaw in the Hare-Clark voting system.

There’s a flaw in the Hare-Clark system? Really? You mean Arrow’s impossibility theorem might be true.

Of course there’s a flaw in it – it elects representatives according to the wishes of the electorate, not of the LibNats!

The Greens have made it pretty clear that they have and always will support Labor. Until they start behaving like a separate party, they need no separate voice.

Good to see The Greens being pushed out onto the periphery where they belong. Next thing we’ll have the Sun Ripened Warm Tomato Party and the Deadly Serious Party demanding to be included in a debate. The Greens members were only elected due to a flaw in the Hare-Clark voting system. They represent nobody, are on the way out and should be completely ignored.

Hold on, is this just a crazy rant?
The Greens received 15.62% of first preference votes in 2008, or 33,057 first preference voters, and a swing of 6.32%.
On another corner of the political triangle, the Liberals received a swing of -3.22% as more voters realised they no longer represent them.
The 2008 result indicates Greens should be included in this debate, especially if those swings are repeated this year.

If.

See the funny thing is if Zed applied to run a Maccas or KFC franchise (both of which have rigorous franchisee screening programs), he wouldn’t make it past round one.

When you try and prevent opposing sides having a voice, all it does is speak to your own incompetence, your own lack of ideas and your own realisation that what you have to offer is lacking.

Liberal: it’s Australian for, “no!”

This is just pathetic and typical of pea-brained Labor nonsense. The Liberals are the opposition party, both locally and federally. It is the job of the opposition party in the Westminster system to oppose the government. If we have an opposition party always agreeing with and voting with the government we would have no dissent at all and be little more than a one-party state.

The good news is that the public isn’t buying this lame nonsense and the Liberals are on track to form the next government. Federally, at least.

Whatever drugs you’re on SJ I hope you’re sharing.

Are they going to perform a street theatre protest outside the Press Club?

That would be unworkable. And what of Independents’ rights?

Another example of how unfit he is to govern.

The only thing worse would be the Greens standing up there dribbling s***. Given that the Greens are not an alternative government and pretty much side with Labor, no matter what crap they put out there, I can understand why they would not want them to take part.
