Zed Seselja, you might be surprised to learn, is still the ACT’s Shadow Attorney-General.
ACT Shadow Attorney-General Zed Seselja will introduce legislation this Wednesday to ensure the appointment of a fifth judge to the Supreme Court which will provide real action on the massive delays currently experienced in the ACT legal system.
“This simple change of amending the Supreme Court Act will assist the current Supreme Court judges to alleviate their heavy case load and reduce the significant delays which impact unjustly on the accused and victims, as well as civil judgements,” said Mr Seselja.
The ACT Law Society wrote to the ACT Government and Mr Seselja in April calling for the appointment of a fifth judge.
“The Government has continued to ignore calls from the legal fraternity, victim advocate community groups and the business community calling for action in regards to the significant delays,” said Mr Seselja.
It still won’t deal with a judge who can’t or won’t deliver judgments however.
