Liberal leader Zed Seselja gave his budget reply in the Assembly yesterday and Gallery connoisseurs were generally impressed by his theatrics.

Here in the wilds of the internet we have to make do with the media release.

Zed notes that there’s actually a lot of money being spend and wonders where it’s going:

“Any pretence from the Treasurer, Katy Gallagher that the ACT is experiencing ‘difficult times’ is contradicted by the budget figures

“In fact, this is the highest revenue budget in Territory history – double the revenue since Labor came to power. It also is the highest taxing budget in territory history – almost double the rate since Labor came to power.

“The government is awash with money. We should be getting rolled gold services, exciting initiatives and new directions.

“Instead, this budget predicts a $470 million underlying deficit over the next four years, and tries to sneak in a massive new tax on homes.

What on Earth is a “rolled gold service”?

Like the $470 million would matter to people that can afford HOMES

Perhaps climate change could have a benefit after all

lets hope

🙂

I suspect that he isn’t adjusting those revenue and expenditure figures for inflation.
