Hi all,

Now, I know there will be many views on the merits of the food or the hiring policies, or the link to the Copa, but that aside….

Does anyone know what is happening with the last of the Zeffirelli restaurants, Belconnen?

The windows are covered over, the phone is disconnected, and the seating is all outside on the verandah.

It doesn’t look good, but I want to believe there is hope yet…

“the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) found that two employees of Zeffirelli’s pizza restaurants were owed $510.92 for every week worked.”

I haven’t found another Italian restaurant in Civic, Belco, or anything inbetween that is anything like this.

I don’t eat meat, and there’s a number of other foods I’m not fond of. I’m just looking for an Italian place where the chef isn’t trying to send me on a food adventure!!

Not exactly Italian, but try the new Chez Frederic in Braddon. Very quick and delicious.

I didn’t mind Zeffs as a place to get relatively cheap pasta meals where I knew what to expect.

Perhaps the kiddies who used it as a transition between McDonalds and real restaurants grew up?

Zeffs used to be good. Then they doubled their prices and halved their quality.

Keen to see what new restaurant opens there.

And answering my own question: Sold, closed for renovation, opening under a different banner.
