joy burch tweet

Well this one’s got us scratching our heads. The ACT’s Minister for Community Services, Multicultural Affairs, Ageing, Women, Gaming and Racing and the Arts, Joy Burch has cryptically tweeted:

Joy Burch MLA @JoyBurchMLA
#Rolltide Shut out mufu!

Rolltide is the call of enthusiasm for for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide, an American football team.

What on earth is a MuFu? Well Urban Dictionary has some suggestions.

Joy’s office are bemused by the tweet, a spokesperson had this to say:

Hmm not sure where that’s come from but Joy hasn’t tweeted that. I can’t even imagine her typing that. A fake, I suspect.

In the last 20 minutes the tweet has ceased to be on the Minister’s feed.

A shutout is a term used in some American sports where a team defeats another team without incurring and goals against, most commonly used in the NHL but occasionally in other sports.

Also baseball, where it’s tracked as a statistic for starting pitchers.

But yeah, I don’t see Joy getting that excited about ‘Bama football.

Could have something to do with the college NFL National Championship game played today which probably for the first time had 2 Australian players going against each other. Jesse Williams and Brad Wing. Jesse Williams plays for Uni of Alabama the team as Johnboy says is known as ‘Crimson Tide’. In case you were wondering about the outcome http://www.smh.com.au/sport/aussie-williams-helps-alabama-to-us-college-title-20120110-1pt57.html Maybe Joy is keen follower?

Alabama (Crimson Tide) play LSU this week, but that still doesn’t shed any light on the criptic tweet. lol

What a shame, I like politicians who tweet things like that. ie have a personality of there own and not what their pollie minders want them to say.

Still american college football is a popularity contest, not a true champion IMO.
