Canberra Restaurant Labour Scandal - Six under investigation

ABC Online is reporting that the Department of Immigration is investigating six Canberra restaurants for possible abuses of skilled working visas.

The Department’s Abul Rizvi has told the estimates hearing there is a full investigation.

“At the moment we have six restaurants that are involved,” he said.

“They have recruited in the order of 20 chefs from the Philippines and the focus of the investigation is on that group.”

Interesting choice of Chefs because Ive found the Phillippines to have some of the worst cooking in the world.
Notice how you dont see to many Phillippino restaraunts. Ive been unfortunate enough to have had a few meals over the years and its not good. Mind you I dont mind the odd chicken or pork adobo but thats about it.
