Mayor Rattenbury has announced the start of the The Youth Emergency Accommodation Network:

The Youth Emergency Accommodation Network is operated by The Salvation Army, in partnership with Canberra Youth Residential Service.

“The Youth Emergency Accommodation Network provides support and accommodation to young people experiencing crisis where all other accommodation options have been exhausted,” said Mr Rattenbury.

“The Salvation Army and Canberra Youth Residential Service have established a new approach to addressing youth homelessness, in line with the broader reforms undertaken by the youth housing and homelessness sector in the past 12 months.”

The YEAN work in tandem with a range of service providers to support young people not only while they are in crisis, but as they transition to more stable education, employment and family reconnection”
