Stories tonight include:

* Child care in Canberra – and a shortage of places means that putting your name down for one of them as soon you know you are pregnant – is not soon enough;
* Ken Stanton, retired Canberra pharmacist – recalls his time flying Lancaster bombers over Nazi occupied Europe. The story includes lots of archival footage from the Australian War Memorial.
* Closer – Canberra in all its autumn colours.

The program will be presented by Catherine Garrett.
(Regular presenter, Philip Williams, is in Honiara reporting for ABC national news and current affair programs.)
Tonight 7.30. Repeated at midday on Saturday.
