An Australian bride and German groom dressed in wedding finery leant an extra sparkle of romance to Floriade yesterday as the festival wraps up for the year.
Following their wedding reception at The Deck at Regatta Point, Jessica Shepherd Buss from Canberra and Wolfram Buss from Germany made the short walk to the Southern Hemisphere’s largest floral festival for some special photos against a backdrop of flowers, a sunny lake – and even a swan.
And while most other visitors to Floriade may not end up with such professional snaps, the opportunity to take photos among a million flowers has been a huge attraction for Floriade 2018 – as it is for every Floriade.
The 31st Floriade began on September 15 and finishes tomorrow (Sunday, October 14) with the ever-popular Dogs’ Day Out.
Selfies and photos with family and friends have been the order of the day at Floriade 2018 with a particular photographic attraction being the Abbey Road sculpture.
While most of us remember four Beatles, it seems that there could have been five, as shown in the photo below.
Or perhaps it was seven, as the following photo shows.
Dogs’ Day Out tomorrow also promises to be a ‘photofest’ with group photos of particular dog breeds, a special ‘pooch affair’ photo backdrop, and the irresistible opportunity to take pics of pooches dressed as superheros. Click here for the day’s schedule.
The RiotACT also got in on the act of taking photos at this year’s Floriade and below are some more memories of the event taken by Glynis Quinlan.
