The Canberra Capitals are kicking off their season this weekend in Melbourne without Lauren Jackson, Kellie Abrams, Natalie Hurst, Abby Bishop, or Chantella Perera.
But the ABC reports new captain Jess Bibby thinks they’re going to go OK this season:
“Due to having such a turnover of players our preseason was about trying to gel the group together and get through our set plays and pieces,” Bibby said.
“It wasn’t looking great four or five weeks ago but things have come along in leaps and bounds since then.
“We’re pretty happy where we’re at at the moment.
“We’re trying to create a little bit of history this year, trying to be only the third team to grab a three-peat,” she said.
Here’s hoping.
