The ACT recorded its first road fatality for 2025 after a cyclist died in a collision with a car in central Canberra.
The incident between a bicycle and a car occurred near the intersection of Murdoch Street and Northbourne Avenue in Lyneham on Tuesday night (11 March).
An ACT Policing spokesperson said police and emergency services received calls about the event at around 9:20 pm.
The 70-year-old male cyclist was declared deceased at the scene.
“ACT Road Policing’s Major Collision Team is investigating the circumstances of the collision and a report will be prepared for the coroner,” the police spokesperson said.
