The Bally is an artistic social enterprise supporting established and emerging artists, that tours around Australia performing at a number of arts and music festivals.
We want to make the Bally a completely solar powered, carbon neutral touring arts venue.
We’ve already made a commitment to being as ‘green’ and ethical as possible. We have structured the business in such a way to cut down on our use of consumables and power as much as possible. We think it would be amazing to take our efforts a step further and invest in a kit that would enable us to run completely from solar power.
Creating a solar powered venue isn’t going to make us money or get us more work. But we think it would be worthwhile, and will hopefully inspire change in other arts businesses as well to do what they can.
We’re working with environmental and event industry professionals to make sure we’re getting the right set up and kit. We’re getting advice from people within the environmental industry about the best ways to go about getting greener.
We think it would be a great thing to do, and we’re hoping other people agree! That’s why we’re trying to raise the funds to do it through crowdfunding. Anyone who thinks this would be a worthwhile project can donate. It can be a straight donation or you can check out some of our amazing rewards (‘thank you’ presents!). The money is only processed if we meet our target. So if you pledge a donation now the money won’t be processed until Nov 24th, and only IF we reach our goal. Any possible contribution would be welcome, big or small!
