ACT Fire Brigade firefighters have safely freed a three-year-old girl whose leg was caught in playground equipment in Wattle Park, Lyneham.

Firefighters used their strength to pull apart metal bars from the rocking horse at the Wattle and Mackennal Street playground to safely release the child before she walked away freely.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 1.26pm.

Off to the rocking glue factory.

I guess the rocking horse will be either fenced off today and removed soon, or removed altogether today – followed by all those dangerous rocking toys across Canberra…

One wonders how a child’s leg gets stuck in equipment that meets Australian Standards… they are SOOO prescriptive.
